"Plixing it right away!", said Padma after being pestered for trip photos by her friends.
With a tag line that says it all, "Your most candid photos are lying on your friend's phones. Get them back!", Plix aims to solve the problem of photo sharing with friends once and for all. This free app is a private photo sharing platform that helps you detect which of your friends might have your pictures that you can then request for. The efficient app also helps smoothly send hundreds of photos in one go without having to share them on Facebook for the world to see. Same time, it gives you access to a plethora of pictures to find that perfect candid shot for your new FB profile picture.
Founder Vishal Bhargava explains the motivation behind launching the app; "While in a group of friends, your most candid shots are usually taken by others, who then procrastinate and end up never sharing them with you. Typically, after pestering each other, friends share a few over Whatsapp. But an album or more pictures to choose and sift from, is a tough task as it's not very easy to send entire albums over the phone privately. Hence we thought we needed to address this dire need."
Plix organizes your photos in albums based on location and time and lets you share entire albums. While sharing albums, it also suggests intelligently which friends might be in those snaps. A small caveat - for the request feature to work, your friends should also have Plix installed. Plix uses an algorithm on top of the metadata information stores in photos to identify which of your friends might have taken pictures with you. Plix is currently in public beta and has been launched globally on the Android store and selectively on the iOS store in UK, India, Canada, Singapore and UAE. One could also download the app from their website-getplix.com.
Vishal tells us, research has shown, over a trillion photos are clicked on mobile phones each year. Yet only about 10-12 percent of them are ever shared. Over 60 percent people believe that some of their best (and most candid) photos are lying on their friends phones and have never been shared with them. Most people believe that platforms, such as, Facebook and Instagram are too public to use. And Whatsapp is a messaging platform, not made for mass photo sharing! Plix aims to revolutionize private photo sharing experience.
So download Plix today, invite your friends- and retrieve all your old memories saved in your friends' phones.
